Raw & authentic
No flat landscape, but relief, forests and slopes where nature takes its course.
Wine with character
The Hageland is one of the oldest wine regions in Belgium, with robust wines and unconventional flavours.
For true explorers
Less well-known, less crowded — perfect for those who enjoy going off the beaten track.
Where does your Hageland experience begin?
Our Hageland adventures take place in and around the hilly wine region between Leuven, Tienen, and Diest. The starting point is at Wijndomein Petrushoeve, strategically located close to vineyards, nature, and historic village centres.
Practical:
- Departure point: Wine estate Petrushoeve, Halensebaan 36, Bekkevoort
- Parking: Free parking available at the domain
- Accessibility: Easy to reach from all over Belgium
What makes Hageland unique?
The Hageland feels different. Here, the landscape is more rugged, the slopes steeper, and the roads more challenging. Vineyards do not sit neatly next to each other, but cling to south-facing slopes. Forests alternate with open vistas, and villages unexpectedly appear after every bend.
This region breathes craftsmanship and perseverance. Viticulture here is not a trend, but a tradition. This makes Hageland the ideal region for experiential tourism with a bite — for those who love nature, relief, and stories with a raw edge.
FAQ
An activity lasts on average 3 to 5 hours. We can develop a full day plan tailored to the budget.
Our activities are unique and in demand. Certainly, the Wine Safari and Aperoller are sold out months in advance. We sometimes have a Vespa or Vintage Fiat 500 available last minute..
There’s no bad weather, only a wardrobe challenge.
- The wine safari always takes place, rain or shine. Possibly with rain covers around the golf carts.
- The Fiat 500s are perfect in the rain or cold.
- We can provide ponchos for the Vespas or Aperollers.
Absolutely. Share your wishes and budget with our Event Managers and they will work with you personally.
Of course. For example, choose the morning for an Escape Route and the afternoon for a Wine Safari, with a picnic pack in between. Preferably, choose to do the activities involving alcohol last :)
Please note that we are currently only offering the Wine Safari in Hageland.
